At VivCourt, our social bonus gives employees the chance to back the causes that matter most to them. Twice a year, we aim to give each employee $10,000 to donate to a registered not-for-profit of their choice, separate from regular bonuses. Since the initiative began in 2016, our people have supported more than 570 charities across health, education, youth development, medical research, community services and more. In this post, four employees share the organisations they chose to support, and the personal stories behind them.
Daniel, Sydney Blood Cancer Research Institute (SBCRI)
SBCRI supports local researchers and clinicians, funding laboratory science, clinical trials, and improving care for people with blood cancers.
Why SBCRI?
I am inspired by someone close to me who lives with multiple myeloma and runs two annual events – a ‘move4myeloma’ fundraiser to benefit SBCRI, and a ‘Bloodraiser’ with Lifeblood to encourage people to donate blood. I’m proud to bring VivCourt’s support to both initiatives.
Despite blood cancer collectively being the second most common, many subtypes are classed as rare, and not-for-profits play an outsized role in driving progress forward. It’s been a tremendously exciting decade for cancer research globally and we are seeing progress convert into real improvement for people in our community.

Ivy, Community Health Support
Community Health Support (CHS) is a grassroots, volunteer-led, 24/7 emergency medical response service based in Sydney, providing free emergency medical advice and care to the community.
Why CHS?
CHS volunteers were among the first responders to the Bondi tragedy on 14 December, providing lifesaving medical treatment and supporting NSW Ambulance during the emergency response.
Their professionalism, training and dedication helped save dozens of lives that day — and they continue to provide the community with confidence that help is always available in a medical emergency. Supporting CHS means helping ensure this vital service can continue for the people who rely on it most.
Josh, Traction for Young People
Traction for Young People helps kids and young adults build skills, confidence, and brighter futures through hands-on mentoring, from bike building to work experience.
Why Traction for Young People?
I aligned with them because I see it’s having a real impact in working alongside young people in the absence of a path forward in life. I find their approach unique in that it’s not a revolving door, they stay engaged with young people in their transformative years.
Everyone, particularly young people deserve their chance to discover their talents, find belonging and unlock their potential. Traction achieves this in a simple, hands on manner for kids who genuinely need someone in their corner. Getting alongside a young person at the right moment, giving them something tangible to build, and watching their confidence follow. We’re lucky to work somewhere that gives us the chance to direct resources toward causes like this. I’m really glad traction got the support.
In response to the donation, Sandy Murdoch (Chair & Founder) expressed his gratitude to VivCourt for getting behind Traction and mobilising this support.

Angei, Step2 Foundation
Step2 Foundation provides access to education and critical resources for children living in poverty in rural Cambodia.
Why Step2 Foundation?
My interest in Cambodia grew after travelling and learning more about the region. One statistic stood out: nearly half (49%) of Cambodian children experience multidimensional poverty, lacking access to clean water, nutrition, and education.
Step2 works to address this problem at its roots and help break the cycle of poverty through access to education and employment. Their support is personal, focused and long-term focused within one village community in Cambodia, located around 20 kilometres east of Siem Reap.
The founder’s personal commitment, from funding the school building in its early stages to sponsoring students through university, made the charity feel especially genuine. It feels like a charity where my donation can make a meaningful difference.
